Newby Wyke (H111) was an old 178 ft Hull steam trawler built for the West Dock Steam Fishing Company. Click here to see our new article on the link between Newby Wyke and a daring North Sea balloon rescue... | |||||||
She
was the last of the West Dock "Wykes". All the ships were named
after villages in the Bridlington & Scarborough area. As a result her funnel colours changed, but she continued to bear the name Newby Wyke. She was eventually scrapped at Albert Drapers Victoria Dock Slipway on April 26th 1975. |
