She
was the last of the West Dock "Wykes". All the ships were named
after villages in the Bridlington & Scarborough area.
Her funnel colour was black with a wide red band, our casks now bear similar
markings.
She was skippered by the Brewer's Grandfather and hence the name of the
brewery.
As a result her funnel colours changed, but she continued to bear the name Newby Wyke.
She was eventually scrapped at Albert Drapers Victoria Dock Slipway on April 26th 1975.
