News January 2007

Newby Wyke Brewery Going Strong....... - It has come to our attention that rumours are circulating that Newby Wyke Brewery is at risk of closure. We would like to reassure both Publicans and our loyal customers that this is NOT the case. The brewery is at present taking Legal advice over the the sale of the pub next to our brewery. They are our landlord and as part of the sale they have requested that we vacate our premises in a timeframe we do not deem acceptable. We are working with our Legal Team to resolve this situation.

New Glasses - We will soon be offering Newby Wyke branded glasses to be purchased through the website.

Homeward Bound - Just left the brewery gates is a new ale from Newby Wyke. Our strongest ale at 6%, Homeward Bound has the usual quality and complex flavours you expect from our ales. Look out for it in your local.

New Newkham Ale - Expect the latest joint effort from Oakham Ales and Newby Wyke to be available in the next few weeks. It's called Mrs Lundy and is a 4.2% Red Wheat Beer.

"Have Your Say" - You Like The Ale! - A number of months ago we launched a page for you
to provide feedback on our ale, this helps us develop our beer and keeps us posted on the quality of our ale at point of sale.
Recent comments include:
- Bardia served in the Malt Shovel, Ashby- "Really enjoyed this ale, look forward to trying
more beers from yourselves."
- Kingston Topaz served at the Works, Sowerby Bridge - "Pure Nectar."
- White Squall served in the New Smithy, Wolstanton- "I have not tasted a beer with so many distinct flavours in a longtime. Thanks very much."

News June 2006

England Expects - Newby Wyke has been brewing England Expects since 2003 to celebrate significant sporting events. The Football World Cup is no exception and England Expects with the distinctive Three Lions bar clip is on the way out of the brewery now - do not be fooled by poor imitations. Festival News - Newby Wyke will be supplying a new ale Bourne Festival 2006 Roundel to celebrate the 2006 Bourne Festival held on the 9/10/11 June. Newby Wyke ales will also be making an appearance at the Riverside Festival at Stamford on the 1 July.

"Have Your Say" - You Like The Ale! - We recently launched a page for you to provide feedback on our ale, this helps us develop our beer and keeps us posted on the quality of our ale at point of sale. Some comments so far include:
- Cromarty a Black Wheat Beer brewed jointly with Oakham Ales ".. can't walk past porters/ stouts/ Newby Wyke or Oakham beers"
- Bear Island our blonde ale with four hop varieties "Had a half at Peterborough Beer Festival.. then another.. and another. Excellent beer"

Black Funnel Back By Popular Demand - Newby Wyke's 5% mild Black Funnel, made its usual appearance for CAMRA Milds in May, but due to continued demand the ale will remain a regular brew. Watch out for it in your local.

News January 2006

News on Newby Wyke Ales - A new range of ales are planned for 2006. They are to be named after North Sea Ferries and will draw upon Norse Mythology. The first in the series are Norwind and Norwave, they will be 5%.You can view the full range of Newby Wyke ales on the ales page.

England Expects - Newby Wyke will be brewing another couple of batches of the ever popular England Expects, the appropriate bar clip should be on the bar of a pub near you for the Rugby Six Nations and the Football World Cup.

News September 2005

News on Newby Wyke Ales - Decommissioned (6.5%) is the latest edition to the Newby Wyke range. The special brew celebrates the retirement of Brewer Robert's father at the age of 65. England Expects (4.6%) won a Silver in the Best Bitter category at the Peterborough Beer Festival 2005. You can view the full range of Newby Wyke ales on the ales page.

Newby Wyke Extends Sponsorship - Newby Wyke is already the sponsor of Corby Glen FC who last season secured promotion to the Premiership. Newby Wyke has now extended it's sponsorship to Bourne Juniors FC. The whole team has been provided with new kit. The brewery also sponsored Natalie to undertake a skydive to raise money for a local animal hospital.

The Fleet is Complete - Newby Wyke has taken delivery of the final of its new fleet of delivery vans. You should be able to spot them on the road as they are adorned with giant bar clips featuring our most popular ales.

News June 2005

News on Newby Wyke Ales - HMS Revenge (4.2%) is now a permanent ale in the Newby Wyke range, due to popular demand. To celebrate 200 Years since the battle of Trafalgar on 21st October and victory for the British Navy off Cape Trafalgar on the Spanish coast, Newby Wyke will make a limited number of barrels of England Expects (4.6%) available. Good luck in finding a pint. Also expect a new ale for the Peterborough Beer Festival between 23rd & 28th August 2005. The brewery has also taken on a new wholesaler (MWS) making the ales even more widely available across the UK.

Congratulation to Corby Glen Football Club - Newby Wyke sponsored Corby Glen FC came back from 0-2 down and half-time to beat Barrowby 4-2 in the Seniors Cup, securing promotion to the Premiership. Newby Wyke hope to sponsor the Bourne Juniors next season in a deal that will ensure all new kits for the team.

New vans to Meet Demand - The brewery is expecting delivery of 2 new vans to support increased demand for the ales.

This helps us develop our beer and keeps us posted on the quality of our ale at point of sale. We have developed a new feedback form where you can rate our ale and provide feedback both good and "constructive". Expext to see this in the next few weeks.

Festival News - Newby Wyke ales will feature heavily at the Stamford Riverside Festival on 2nd July 2005. The festival includes  art exhibitions, a dedicated children's marquee, fairground rides, craft and trade stalls, a spectacular fireworks finale and the town's biggest and best beer festival featuring a range of Newby Wyke ales.

News December 2004


New Van Arrives to Support Continued Expansion - Newby Wyke continues to grow, with Newby Wyke ales becoming available in new areas of the UK. To support this continued growth in volume of beer to be distributed, the brewery has taken delivery of a new larger van. It is fully decked out in the brewery colours and will be a noticeable sight on the roads of the UK. This will complement the two already in use.

New Saint Georges Day Ale - Plans are well underway already for a new ale to help celebrate St. Georges day. The new ale will be called Revenge (4.2%).

Special Ale for the Yorkshire Club of the Year - Newby Wyke has brewed an ale to celebrate Greetland Community Centre becoming Yorkshire Club of the Year. The request was for only one batch, but the beer has gone down so well that Newby Wyke has just despatched their third batch.

New Photo History Pages - A new photo library of images of the Hull trawler Newby Wyke has been added.

News September 2004

Newby Wyke Hits Gold Again - Newby Wyke's White Squall took the Gold Medal in the Specialty Beers class at the Peterborough Beer Festival 2004. This was followed by a Silver Medal for Chesapeake in the Champion Beer of Champion Beers class at the St. Albans Beer Festival 2004. Read more about these award winning brews on the ales page.

- Corby Glen Football Team are now proudly sponsored by Newby Wyke in a 3 year deal, with two new strips carry the brewery name.

New Ales for 2004 - Newby Wyke has created a new ale for 2004, Kingston Topaz, visit our ales page to fund out more about it.

Newby Wyke Beers in Finland - We can now be sampled as far a field as Finland, as we have supplied five pubs with White Squall, Bear Island and Chesapeake. Find out more about the beers on the ales page.

Peterborough Gold For 2004 - Newby Wyke will be brewing a new beer, Peterborough Gold, for the Peterborough Beer Festival 2004 on 24th - 29th August. The links page will take you to the Festival website. 

New Beer for Peterborough CAMRA - Newby Wyke will be brewing a new ale Harry Morton to help celebrate 30 years of Peterborough CAMRA.

Bourne Festival 2004 a Roaring Success - Newby Wyke sponsored the 2004 Bourne Festival, which provided a fantastic weekends entertainment on June 11th - 13th, the special ale Roundel (4.0%) went down a treat.
